Inno3D Unveils GeForce RTX 4070 & 4060 Ti GPUs With Hidden Power Connectors

Nov 16, 2023

Inno3D has unveiled its upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 & RTX 4060 Ti GPUs which feature hidden power connectors for cleaner PC builds.

The company showcased two brand new GPU designs, the GeForce RTX 4070 AX eSports and the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti iChill X2 White. Both of these designs are new in the sense that they adopt a very discrete placement for the power connector which isn't located on the side of the card as it should be. Instead, Inno3D hides the connectors on the inner side of the PCB and is sandwiched right between the heatsink and the backplate.

For the Inno3D GeForce RTX 4070 AX eSports GPU, the graphics card comes with a removable section of the backplate which can be lifted to expose the power connector underneath it.

The cards only require either a single 16-Pin 12VHPWR or an 8-pin connector so you don't have to be worrying about routing multiple cables through the gap. The power connectors are reversed at a 180-degree angle. Once the power connector is plugged in, you can put the backplate cover back on the card for a very neat connector-less look.

The Inno3D GeForce RTX 4060 Ti iChill X2 White doesn't have the same amount of real estate as the RTX 4070 and the backplate is fitted to the card. But to plug in the power connector, you won't have to remove the entire backplate as that is unnecessary. Instead, there's a gap in the backplate where you can simply insert the connector and route it through the back.

In both cases, the power cable will be going toward the other side of the chassis and not facing the side panel. This design is particularly useful for the 12VHPWR connectors as it gives enough length for the cable to bend and no 90-degree connectors or adapters will have to be required for a setup like this. The cards will also be shipping with white colored cables to match their theme and it looks to be perfect for gamers who are building white PCs. AIBs are also working on connector-less GPUs and other innovative ways for their future custom designs.
